The teaser for Dacoit (also known as Dacoit: A Love Story), starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, has officially dropped today, December 18, 2025—perfectly timed to celebrate Sesh’s birthday. This pan-Indian action drama, directed by Shaneil Deo, is already creating massive waves, particularly for its stylized grit and a nostalgic musical surprise.
The Teaser Highlights: Heists, Heartbreak, and Heat
The teaser introduces us to a high-octane world of “Guns and Roses,” where betrayal and trust collide. The story revolves around two ex-lovers who find themselves embroiled in a tense heist.
• Adivi Sesh’s Gritty Return: Sesh appears in a rugged, scarred avatar. Known for his “brainy” thrillers, this film seems to push him into a more raw, physical space.
• Mrunal Thakur’s Action Avatar: Moving away from her usual “Sita Ramam” grace, Mrunal is seen driving rashly and participating in the heist, proving she is as much a part of the action as Sesh.
• The Antagonist: Bollywood veteran Anurag Kashyap makes a powerful appearance as a police officer and an Ayyappa devotee, adding a unique layer of “duty vs. dharma” to the plot.
The Showstopper: “Kannepettaro Kannu Kottaro” BGM
The absolute highlight for many fans is the reimagined background score. The teaser features a techno-remix of the iconic track “Kannepettaro Kannukottaro” from Akkineni Nagarjuna’s cult classic Hello Brother.
Produced by Bheems Ceciroleo, this modern rendition breathes new life into the 90s hit. The familiar hook line serves as a playful yet high-energy accompaniment to the heist sequences, bridging the gap between nostalgic Telugu cinema and modern stylized action.
